The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

The Distance Between Us - Kasie West
SYNOPSIS

Seventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers studies the rich like her own personal science experiment, and after years of observation she’s pretty sure they’re only good for one thing—spending money on useless stuff, like the porcelain dolls in her mother’s shop. So when Xander Spence walks into the store to pick up a doll for his grandmother, it only takes one glance for Caymen to figure out he’s oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and that he’s one of the first people who actually gets her, she’s smart enough to know his interest won’t last. Because if there’s one thing she’s learned from her mother’s warnings, it’s that the rich have a short attention span. But Xander keeps coming around, despite her best efforts to scare him off. And much to her dismay, she's beginning to enjoy his company. She knows her mom can’t find out—she wouldn’t approve. She’d much rather Caymen hang out with the local rocker who hasn’t been raised by money. But just when Xander’s attention and loyalty are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn’t a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she’d ever realized. And that Xander’s not the only one she should’ve been worried about.

REVIEW

I immediately read this book after reading Kasie West's "The Fill-In Boyfriend". Pretty sure you've read the sypnosis. The book is about a teenage girl who met an absolutely rich boy . I loved their first encounter, it's very different from any other YA books that I've read. The story started differently. Girl who's finding out how to solve a Science equation, then the bell in their Doll Store rings. Welcoming a guy who's in his cellphone. It's a bit strange isn't it? A guy in a doll store. And everything about this guy screams rich . As how Caymen described this him... A pair of cargo pants, a pink button-down rolled at the sleeves. But the clothes were purchased somewhere that specializes in thread count and triple stitching Xander was supposed to pick put a doll for his grandmother for her birthday. and he needed a help from Caymen, not only on how to pick a doll, but also on how, THEY TWO, will figure out what they really want in life. This story is another cliche story of hers. The relationship between rich and poor. But still, I loved every bits. i was like desciption But what I loved in this book is that you will learn so many things while reading it. Not only how rich people look at the poor ones. Here are some: 1. Unlike Caymen, I grew up with a father. I knew the feeling of being loved by a father. A father figure is really important in a teenagers life. 2. School, future. it's significant to know what you want in your life. What you want to be, what you love doing, and how are you going to do something for a living. Because let's face it, everything's better when it's planned wisely. 3. Last but not the least. Acceptance, taking risks and taking chances. You will never know what will happen if you won't try. In life, trying is really important. No person who've succeeded, never knew failure. If you win, you'll be happy. I you lose, you'll be wise. Want to know what's the biggest risk? It's not taking the risk description I love the relationship between Caymen and Xander. A girl who's very sarcastic and a boy who's arrogant, arrogant in a good way. I love it when Xander brings hot chocolate for Caymen and she won't drink it, unless Xander already sipped from the drink. I mean. isn't that cute? When they're up to finding out where they're good at, Xander made a surprise plane flight for her. THEIR FIRST KISS, that's too perfect (lol is there a things more perfect than perfect?) Oh my gosh, can I just have my own Xander Spence? description The thing is, I didn't like how the story ended. I wanted more, I'm craving for more. It ended so fast, I didn't even realize that after the last chapter there are no chapters left. I got few unanswered questions. Will Caymen talk to her father? Caymen and her mom, are they going to live with her super rich grandparents? Will they still run the Doll Store? How about Mason? This isn't enough, I want more, more and more. KASIE WEST, please write MORE! :( description
